Houses Overlooking Glass Beach Area
This is a real nice neighborhood where these houses are. So quiet and serene to go for walks by or ride a bike by.
No Sugar Vegan Candy Roasted Pecans
Okay, so I saw that most of the candied pecans needed egg whites, but since I don't eat eggs or sugar, I found this way to make them.
INGREDIENTS: Some Raw Pecans, Agave Nectar Syrup, Canola Oil, Cinnamon and Salt.
First I took a couple big handfuls of raw pecans. Put them in a bowl and then added a couple teaspoons of oil and a couple teaspoons of Agave Nectar Syrup. I tossed them and added some salt and cinnamon. I greased a cookie sheet a little and then I placed them one by one about an inch away from each other on the cookie sheet. I cooked them for 6 minutes at 375 degrees. Then I turned them over and cooked them for another 4 minutes. They turned out really good. Now you may want to vary the times cooking these and keep an eye on them as they can burn quickly. They cook very fast and the little pieces tend to get burned, so best not to put any broken pieces in there. One other thing, for extra fun in taking care of your sweet tooth, mix a little oil, agave nectar syrup, cinnamon and salt in a bowl and dip one half of the toasted pecans in that. Delicious. Bon Appetite! Warning: Not a "diet" food, but plenty of nutrients are in Pecans to take away any guilt. And only cook a little bit at a time as they are guaranteed not to last! And if you only cook a little, you won’t have to worry about eating lots. Smile.

Hands Across The Sand 2010
View from Pudding Creek Bridge. I received an email stating the following about the event: "At Pudding Creek voices were raised in a prayer written by Dr. Masaru Emoto.
We* send the energy of love and gratitude to the water and all living creatures in the Gulf of Mexico and its surroundings. To the whales, dolphins, pelicans, fish, shellfish, plankton, coral, algae, and all living creatures....we are sorry. Please forgive us. Thank you. We love you.
*Dr. Masaru Emoto, who many of you will recognize as the scientist from Japan who has done all the research and publications about the characteristics of water. Among other things, his research reveals that water physically responds to emotions."
I like that prayer. Nice to be able to say that daily. Better to put out love than hate, anyday.
Hands Across The Sand Event at Pudding Creek Beach
It was a pretty foggy morning, but I managed to get a photo of the participants in the Hands Across The Sand Event today. Nice our little town participates in even these worldwide events. :-)

Hands Across The Sand Tomorrow
Tomorrow June 26th will be an event at Pudding Creek called "Hands Across The Sand". We are asked to gather there at 11 am and enjoy the beach. Then from 12 to 12:15 we will join hands in bringing awareness about the environment and speaking up about no offshore oil drilling and finding alternative ways to live that are better for the environment. Here is a link to the website:

Would be great if we all can either walk or bike to Pudding Creek beach, too. Just would look funny going there protesting the oil drilling and lots of people pulling up in big old SUV's. Well, I don't own a car, so guess I can say that freely enough. Anyway, hope some of you can be there or be at your local beach if you live near one. Take care all.
Today's Interesting Speaker I Heard - Jon Turk
Today I went to the Redwood Coast Senior Center in Fort Bragg and heard a talk by Jon Turk. I was fascinated with his storytelling about his adventures. His meeting up with a Shaman woman in Siberia and being healed of a physical injury was very interesting as well. His talk was one I will remember for a long time. He is a lively, intelligent, spiritual and humorous man. He had lots of inspiring things to share with us about the environment and getting more in touch with the earth, life, solitude and bringing magic back into our lives as well. His latest book out is called "The Raven's Gift" available at his website at:

I noticed other books with that title online if you go to purchase it elsewhere, so look for the one by Jon Turk. I was happy I could shake his hand and thank him for his wonderful presentation of his journeys which included miles and miles of traveling in a kayak to Siberia no less! I can't wait to read his book which I will be doing shortly.

Greeted By My Morning Toast
You hear about those funny stories of toast looking like people or something, well, this morning this little face appeared on one of my pieces of toast. Not sure who it resembles, but thought it was worth posting on my blog. Smile.

Ferns Growing Right By The Ocean
I noticed these nice looking ferns growing by the ocean and just had to get a photo of them. I think all the rain made for this nice scene. :-)
