That Season Again - Christmas Music is Playing

Went to Safeway to pick up some items and heard the Christmas music. Somehow I just didn't seem ready for it a day after Thanksgiving. But I rode my bike home at night and saw some Christmas lights. That I was ready for. I love looking at all the Christmas lights and decorations around town. So this will be fun to see as it gets closer to Christmas and more displays are put up around town.

Brrrr!

Quite a cold spell we are having here on the coast. I am sure this will pass and it won't be that bad soon!

Thunderstorm Today

Just relaxing on a Saturday morning and then some really loud thunder! It was kind of exciting actually. Mother nature is amazing! Plenty of rain is coming along and I am sure our front lawns will be even greener than they already are. Noticed lots of toadstools growing in the yards, so looks like we are doing well on having enough rain going on here.

Day of the Dead Candlelight Procession of Remembrance 2010

Following are some photos of the Day of the Dead 2010 First Annual Event in Fort Bragg, CA. We walked through town, some of us had our faces painted, and we had candles and glow sticks and flashlights. We carried photos of our loved ones who passed or just carried their memories with us in our hearts and minds on our walk. Everyone was loving and caring at the event. People were in good moods and it was a nice time spent remembering our loved ones and meeting new people, too.

One of the organizers of the first annual event. She is posing with a photo of her child who passed away at age 11. She encouraged us to remember our loved ones who passed. To remember their laughter, their smiles and to know that is okay for us to still laugh and be happy. She said her child was happy and laughed lots and it is okay for her to do the same in her childs memory. Very moving to hear her speak.

At the night walk procession we held candles or had flashlights and walked from Laurel and Franklin Street to the Senior Center. We also walked and looked at alters in store fronts around town. People brought photos of their loved ones who passed.
